ऑटोविकिब्राउज़र (जिसे अक्सर संक्षिप्त में AWB कहा जाता है) विंडोज़ एक्सपी और ऊपर के लिए एक अर्द्ध स्वचालित है मीडियाविकी संपादक है, जिसे थकाऊ एवं पुनरावृत्तीय कार्यों को तेज और आसान बनाने के लिए डिजाइन किया गया है। (AWB लिनक्स पर वाइन की मदद से अच्छी तरह से चलता है, लेकिन यह आधिकारिक तौर पर समर्थित नहीं है।) यह एक ब्राउज़र विंडो के सामान है, जो पिछले पृष्ठ को सहेजने के पश्चात क्रमिक रूप से नया पृष्ठ खोलते जाता है।

उपयोग नियम[सम्पादन]
- सहेजने से पहले प्रत्येक संपादन जाँच लें। सुनिश्चित करें की आपने पाठ समझ लिया है तथा उसके तात्पर्य में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया है।
- सभी विकिपीडिया दिशा निर्देशों, नीतियों और सामान्य व्यवहार से बँधे हुए हैं।
- इसके साथ कोई भी विवादास्पद कार्य न करें।
- बहुत तीव्र संपादन न करें। यदि आप प्रायः एक मिनट में कई संपादन करते हैं तो बॉट खाता खोलने पर विचार करें।
- बेकार और निरर्थक संपादन करने से बचें। जैसे कि केवल कुछ रिक्तियाँ (स्पेस) हटाना या जोड़ना, आधार साँचे स्थानांतरित करना, कुछ एचटीएमएल को युनिकोड में परिवर्तित करना, जोड़ों से रेखांकन को हटाना जबकि वे विकिपीडिया खराब जोड़ या इसी तरह के मुश्किल पैदा करने वाले न हों। ऐसा इसलिए कि यह संसाधनों की बरबादी है और ध्यान सूचियों को निर्रथक रूप से भरता है।
- इन नियमों के दुरुपयोग पुनरावृत्ति का परिणाम बिना चेतावनी के सॉफ्टवेयर अक्षम होने में हो सकता है।
उपयोग विधि[सम्पादन]
(क) अनुमति प्राप्त करें[सम्पादन]
इस सॉफ्टवेयर का प्रयोग करने के लिए प्रबंधक सूचनापट पर प्राधिकरण हेतु अनुमति प्राप्त करें। सुरक्षा कारणों से, केवल अधिकृत सदस्य ही (चेक पेज पर सूची देखें) हिन्दी विकिपीडिया पर ऑटोविकिब्राउज़र का प्रयोग कर पाएंगे। विधिवत, मुख्य नामस्थान पर 500 से अधिक संपादन करने वाले सदस्यों को ही अधिकृत किया जायेगा। अनुरोध अनुमोदित कर दिए जाने पर हो सकता है आपको संपर्क नहीं किया जाए, इसलिए समय समय पर इस पन्ने को जांचते रहें, या पन्ने को अपनी ध्यानसूची में डाल लें।
(ख) डाउनलोड[सम्पादन]
रिलीज़ संस्करण को यहाँ से डाउनलोड करें।
यह सॉफ्टवेयर एक ज़िप फाइल के रूप में डाऊनलोड होता है और यह सलाह दी जाती है कि इसे एक नयी डायरेक्टरी (फोल्डर)में अनज़िप कर लें ना कि सीधे ही डेस्कटॉप आदि से चलाना शुरु कर दें। इसकी विशेषता है कि इसे कंप्यूटर पर इन्सटॉल करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है और अनज़िप करने के बाद सीधे ही इसे exe फाईल (AutoWikiBrowser.exe) से चलाया जा सकता है।

ऑटोविकिब्राउज़र के लिए माइक्रोसॉफ्ट विण्डोज़ 2000/XP या इससे नए संस्करण की आवश्कयता है। साथ ही .NET Framework के संस्करण 2 या 3.5 भी आवश्यक है। (विण्डोज़ 2000 and विण्डोज़ XP प्रयोक्ता इसे संस्करण3.5 को यहाँ से डाऊनलोड करके इन्स्टॉल कर सकते हैं।; जबकि विण्डोज़ विस्टा और उससे नए संस्करणों में यह पहले से ही है। ).
If the software does not work, it probably means that you are not registered or that you do not have the correct .NET Framework installed.
On Linux, AWB partially works with Wine. It can also be started on Mono, albeit with some strange errors. See Mono and Wine. The installation process is the same as Wikipedia:Huggle/Wine.
On the Mac, AWB is not natively available, but an option is to use virtualisation with Parallels Desktop for Mac (subject to meeting supported operating systems requirements) and then run Microsoft Windows virtually with AWB as the Windows instructions above. Note this option is not free, as a license is required for both Parallels Desktop for Mac and Microsoft Windows. An alternative is to use the free VirtualBox.

- Select "Make from Category" then enter a category name.
- Click "Make list", let the list load up.
- Set any options, such as find and replace, edit summary, etc.
- Click "Start!", it will load up the page, automatically make any changes and then go to the diff.
- Change anything in the page you want in the Edit box on the lower right, not the normal website textbox in the browser, then click "Save" or "Skip / Ignore", the next page will load up automatically.

AWB includes a database scanner which can be used to create lists of pages to be checked, without causing extra unnecessary load on Wikimedia servers.
Database dumps are created from time to time (more info here) and are available for free download. As the page states, the best/most useful dump is the enwiki-latest-pages-articles.xml.bz2 (dir). Visiting the database dump progress site allows you to view the status of the current dump and easily browse to the downloads in it.
After downloading, the archive needs to be uncompressed; this will turn it from a ~9.1 GB bz2 archive into an XML database dump around 42 GB.
A scannable .xml file can also be generated by visiting Special:Export.
Plugins[सम्पादन]
AWB is able to load and use fully customized plugins. These plugins can process page text and extend the user interface, and are in the form of libraries (.dll files) which can be made in any .NET language such as C# or Visual Basic .NET. When AWB loads, it automatically checks to see if there are any plugins in the folder it was executed from. Any plugins found are loaded and initialized without further intervention by the user.
