Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat

Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

Report concerning User:Benoît Prieur[edit]

Benoît Prieur (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log • GUC • CA)Reasons: Benoît Prieur has been banned from the Wikimedia France’s events by decision of the WMFr’s board. He still tries to join WMFr’s events sand he is currently leading an edit war to join one of WMFr’s events (check the history). Some help would be great.

More context: Benoît Prieur is doing the same kind of edit wars on various projects: on the French Wiktionary ([1]), on the French Wikipedia ([2]), where he is blocked for 6 months, partly due to this behaviour.

Finally, when I recall him that he was banned from Wikimedia France’s events, he vandalised Wikimedia France’s Event Charter [3].

Thanks, Cédric Tarbouriech, Wikimedia France’s Secretary (talk) 09:50, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment @Cédric Tarbouriech It is sad to see one user totalling well over one million and a half contribs involved in war editing. I am adding this comment to remind about the mission about this meta.wiki site: we usually avoid blocking users, especially those that understand WMF values and the global mission of this site. - @Benoît Prieur If this behaviour continues, any meta admin might indeed issue a block or restrict access to certain pages. - @Base will eventually evaluate if autopatrol is to be kept or revoked. Thanks. --M/ (talk) 11:17, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am completely cool with the idea of being banned, excluded from whatever you want, it doesn't bother me, just leave me my Metawiki user page. --Benoît Prieur (talk) 11:25, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Report concerning User:Sigwald[edit]

He threatened to prosecute me IRL (in the edit's description: "уедешь за разглашение ЛД") and started an edit war on the administrators' noticeboard on ruwikinews deleting my reports to ruwikinews' administrators. Asorev (talk) 14:59, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This issue is not within Meta-Wiki admins' purview since it is not on Meta-Wiki. — JJMC89(T·C) 17:35, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
